Canyon Heights: Close to Edgemont with same schools but better VALUE:

Edgemont Village is easily the most widely sought after area in North Vancouver.  Young families seek some of North Vancouver’s best public schools and others come for the relatively flat neighbourhoods and convenience of shopping in Edgemont Village.  There is a lengthy list of reasons to move to Edgemont Village but one major detractor is price.

Canyon Heights is the sub-area just north of Edgemont Village and offers similar school catchments and easy accessibility to Edgemont Village.  In addition you will find better access to hiking at Cleveland Dam and Grouse Mountain.  This neighbourhood has a mixture of modest homes dating back to the 1950’s as well as monster new homes.  Canyon Heights is also a very expensive place to live but there are some pockets and corners where there are desirable homes for far less than those found steps from Edgemont Village.  And let’s be honest, you can still walk to Edgemont Village if you are willing to take a longer walk.
